For the first time, 3 Day Startup (3DS) is inviting their entire global network to Austin and Porto for a global roundup.
With the mission to kickstart new student-run companies, 3 Day Startup aims to build entrepreneurial capabilities in students and their university communities. The idea is to start tech companies over the course of three days. It started in the University of Texas in 2008, but in 2010 they began the expansion to other universities across the globe and are now in60 schools worldwide.
Since the program, 3DS is building and growing a community that never got the chance to meet and network. The 3DS Global Roundup happening next June 12th to 14th is their answer. From Singapore to Portugal to Omaha, they gather the whole community in Austin and Porto.
Duarte Silva, one of the names behind 3DS Porto and 3DS Global Roundup lead organizer:
“We’re eager to meet everyone and to put some face-to-face relationships on our network.”
Considering all the cities in Europe where 3DS has operations, seeing Portugal as the place to be is a really good sign on our growth and recognition. Duarte added:
We took this challenge as an opportunity to place the Portuguese startup scene under the spotlights by leveraging the arrival of 3DS’ers from the entire world. The plan is to leave a Portuguese mark on 3DS and everyone attending!
Besides the expected amazing weather and the unquestionable good food and wine, the meeting in Porto will include a lot of discussions and learnings. “Launching without funding”, “When should you quit your job/work for you startup?” or “Plan B for entrepreneurs” are just some of the planned discussions.
The Global Roundup is free for organizers, panelist or mentor from previous 3DS programs and costs 25€ for non-3DS.
