On Friday, we arrived in Lisbon for the last day of the roadshow and two days after the big announcement that Lisbon is going to host the Web Summit in the next 3 years. The energy was high and everyone was excited to share their two cents on what’s happening in the Lisbon startup scene.

We started our visit at Startup Lisboa. Founded in 2011, Startup Lisboa supports the creation of companies and tracks their first years of activity. This incubator provides entrepreneurs and companies – from tech, commerce and tourism – with office space as well as a support structure, to maximize their chances for success. 

At Startup Lisboa we met 3 talented entrepreneurs from 3 exciting startups.

Citydrive is always at your fingertips! Locate and book a car nearby using your smartphone/tablet mobile App. Citydrive has already 50 cars in Lisbon and is looking at other cities for expansion.

DOINN is where vacation rental hosts instant book all services they need in one-stop shop and earn extra income with the services booked by guests. DOINN has a smart network of specialized providers for hosts and additional services for guests like transfers, rent a car, sightseeing bus, tickets, cleaning and others.

Iterar is a startup focused on software development. They aim at developing simple solutions for complex problems that maximize the potential of their customers. Their team is composed of two medical doctors, one biochemistry PhD and one Industrial Engineer and Management master. That makes them a multi-disciplinary team with a passion for great ideas and software.

We then went to Fábrica de Startups, an accelerator that promotes entrepreneurship with the mission to contribute to the development of more and better Portuguese startups with global growth potential. Fábrica de Startups has developed their own acceleration methodology and uses it to organize programs, events and various initiatives to support the creation, development and internationalization of startups.

At Fábrica de Startups we had the chance to meet 3 startups from their last batch on tourism.

Climber is a revenue management tool that provides independent hoteliers optimal, dynamic pricing using local data and customer analytics.

GoTo is an easy to use mobile application that solves transportation issues for tourists! Essentially, they organize all the different paper flyers produced by promoters.

Dlast is a last minute opportunities aggregator for those looking for tickets to cultural events, concerts and shows.
