Doinn is the most recent Portuguese start-up invested by Portugal Ventures. Through the various editions of the Call For Entrepreneurship, Portugal Ventures has already invested in 60 start-ups.
Doinn is a service platform for local accommodation, allowing hosts to book cleaning and laundry services, check-in and check-out, and arrange transfers. These services are provided by vendors – suppliers with consolidated experience in the hotel industry, whose employees have specialized training.
With sustained growth since the beginning of its operation in August 2015, Doinn currently operates only in the Lisbon area, intending to soon expand to Oporto and Paris.
“We are delighted with the confidence that Portugal Ventures has shown in the project, thus contributing to the development of tourism. We are the first company in the Local Housing sector to receive an investment from Portugal Ventures. For us it is a great source of pride
said Noelia Novella, CEO of Doinn.
Doinn is joining previous investments by Portugal Ventures in the Tourism sector: B- Guest, GuestU, IndieCampers, Invine, JiTT, Medical Port, MyGon, Skaphandrus, Storyo and StoryTrail.
During the previous fourteen editions of the Call 2,960 entrepreneurs registered on the Portugal Ventures websites, resulting in the submission of 964 projects. The support and involvement of the Ignition Partners Network, made up of 48 national and international entities from the scientific and technology-based entrepreneurship ecosystem, in this dynamic was crucial to this success.
The Call For Entrepreneurship is the entry point to Portugal Ventures’ Ignition Programme. The objective of the Programme is to bolster the national technology-based entrepreneurship ecosystem and, thus, contribute to the development of a more modern and competitive economy, open to the world, based on knowledge, innovation and highly qualified human capital, with a strong entrepreneurial spirit. With this initiative, Portugal Ventures aims to invest around 20 million Euros per year.
The 15th edition of the Call For Entrepreneurship is now open and projects may be submitted until 19th May. All applications are to be submitted through the Portugal Ventures website.
