Founded in 2011 by the Lisbon Municipality, Bank Montepio and IAPMEI – Portuguese Agency for Competitiveness and Innovation IP, Startup Lisboa entered the business of supporting startups when it opened its first door in the number 80 of Rua da Prata in Lisbon. The goal was to incubate projects focused on web and mobile. Later, Startup Lisboa started to receive innovative projects on commerce, services and tourism with a new building.
After supporting more than 100 startups and helping the creation of more than 700 jobs, the incubator is inaugurating a third building today, right in front of the first one, at Rua da Prata, number 81.
