On Monday WeDo announced that a “Tier-1 North American telecommunications service provider” had selected WeDo Technologies’ integrated revenue assurance (RA) and fraud management solution to assure its mobile business.

The Tier-1 North American telecom provider was not named in the statement to the press; however, running on AWS, WeDo’s solution will allow the carrier to eliminate revenue leakage as it launches new services to the market, while protecting customers from fraud.

The news came one day before Amazon Web Services announced that it had opened its first office in Lisbon, which was welcomed by the Portuguese government and the startup community.

To more easily integrate into the carrier’s existing cloud-based business support system (BSS) infrastructure, it will deploy WeDo’s RAID software on AWS.

“WeDo is pleased to be supporting one of America’s most innovative mobile brands as it accelerates its growth strategy,” said WeDo Co-Founder and CEO Rui Paiva in a statement.

“With our RAID solution running on AWS, the carrier will now benefit from constantly having the latest updates in fraud detection and revenue assurance, which also include machine learning and artificial intelligence capabilities that ensure they are equipped to manage future risks and challenges,” he added.

The RAID Cloud solution provides a simpler, faster, smarter approach to managing telecom fraud. By leveraging the cloud, RAID reduces integration time and costs with its self-service and user friendly, on-the-spot onboarding process.

“WeDo Technologies’ RAID software ensures communication providers the chance to reap these benefits across their revenue assurance and fraud management programs,” said Paiva.

RAID enables operators to address roaming, bypass and IRSF fraud, and equips operators to identify future areas of revenue leakage. RAID’s prebuilt fraud and RA modules provide rich management capabilities, which can be integrated with AWS’s cloud analytics services to provide deeper analysis into subscriber and customer usage.

Along with RAID deployments on AWS, WeDo Technologies is working to accelerate the time to market for the Internet of Things (IoT) risk management solutions. WeDo Technologies will be providing AWS IoT customers an end-to-end protection to help them respond to some of the most challenging issues surrounding IoT assurance and fraud management.

WeDo Technologies will now be able to deliver extended fraud management capabilities on top of the potential of the Internet of Things. The approach will help enable and inspire communications service providers (CSP) in rethinking “assurance by design” in IoT – through creating new business models and exploring innovative approaches to different industry opportunities.
