CeBIT, the biggest European technology trade fair is coming and Portugal jumped on the bandwagon. Taking place between 16th and 20th of March in Hannover, Germany, the event will have more than 20 Portuguese participants, among startups, companies and other organizations.

What is going to happen in CeBIT?

The keynote theme of CeBIT 2015 is d!conomy, which represents the fast growth of information technology into all areas of the economy and society, associated with the role of IT as a key driver of innovation. Along with it, major market trends will be discussed: mobile, internet of everything, security and privacy and disruptive technologies.

According to Oliver Frese, from the Managing Board of Deutsche Messe AG,

“Digitization is everywhere and is shaping ever more dimensions of working and social life. IT is transforming existing business models while at the same time giving rise to completely new ones. Information technology now has the ability to rapidly disrupt entire industries. d!conomy encapsulates this development perfectly.”

CeBIT, as many other events, is divided in 2 parts: the Global Conferences and the Exhibition. The CeBIT Global Conferences provide a comprehensive overview of the digital world, specially regarding its four core markets (IT, telecommunications, digital media and consumer electronics) and give top visibility to wide trends and innovations. Exhibition CeBIT covers all the relevant issues in IT business.

Two Portuguese Startups among the finalists of CODE_n15 Contest

Muzzley and Sensefinity are two of the fifty startups chosen to showcase their innovative solutions to visitors, potential partners, investors and customers. CODE_n Contest intends to identify the world’s leading young innovators, to give them visibility and promote those business models which promise to shape our digital future. With 400 applications from startups around the world, the selection process had in consideration the degree of innovation, quality of business case, quality of presentation or technological innovation.
